How to Create and Configure a Reseller Account in WHM

Step 1: Log in to WHM

Access your WHM panel via https://your_server_ip:2087 or https://your_server_hostname:2087 and log in with your root credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to Create a New Account

In WHM dashboard, search for Create a New Account or go to Account Functions > Create a New Account. This is where you will create the client account that will become a reseller.

Step 3: Fill in Account Details

• Domain: Enter the client’s domain name.
• Username: Suggested automatically by WHM or manually set.
• Password: Generate a strong password or set one manually.
• Email: Provide the account owner’s email for notifications.

Step 4: Assign a Hosting Package

Select a hosting package for the reseller. Packages define limits like disk space, bandwidth, email accounts, and databases. You can create a new package if necessary under Packages > Add a Package.

Step 5: Make the Account a Reseller

After creating the account, search for Manage Reseller Privileges in WHM. Select the account you just created, then check Make Account a Reseller and assign reseller privileges.

Step 6: Verify the Reseller Account

Log in to the reseller cPanel using the account credentials. Check that the account can create sub-accounts, manage resources, and access WHM reseller features. Make sure DNS settings and email functions are working correctly.

Step 7: Optional – Customize Packages for Sub-Resellers

Create additional packages for your clients under the reseller account. This helps you manage multiple client accounts efficiently and allows resellers to offer hosting with different limits.
